questionsBelow are some of the questions we are frequently asked.  If you still need further information then please call us on 01225 302143 and we will be happy to assist you.

Do you cover my area?

Yes we record on location at schools anywhere in mainland UK, including the Isle of Wight.  We do not make any charge for travel.

Tell me about your experience

Recordings 4 Schools is owned and operated by 4 Part Music Ltd who have been recording schools on location since 2004.  We have recorded in hundreds of schools since this time – you can read about our recent recordings on our blog.

How do we book a Recording?

Firstly check our availability using the calendar on this website, which you can find on every page, either to the right or below if you are using a mobile device. Once you find a date which suits, then just give us a call on 01225 302143 or click here to send us an email.

How long does the recording take?

Generally school recordings will be undertaken during a single day. We do not put time limits on the session as this will largely be governed by the school day.  Our engineers tend to arrive at 7.30am in order to be ready to record by 9am. Some schools prefer to finish by lunchtime so the hall can be cleared. Sometimes we continue recording until the end of your school day. The choice is entirely yours.

How do we design the CD artwork?

Recordings 4 Schools will create the artwork for your CD at no extra cost. We encourage schools to run a competition to have one of the pupils design the front cover.  More information and useful templates for this can be found here.

I don’t have a CD player can I still access the songs?

Increasingly CD players are disappearing from Hi-fi setups, cars and laptops.   From 2019 all our CDs now come with access to a digital copy of the files.  Details will be in the CD you purchase from the school.

What do we do about copyright?

Recordings 4 Schools can handle all aspects of copyright clearance on your behalf.

How long before we get the CDs?

Pending receipt of artwork, the CDs will usually be delivered to the school within 7-10 working days of the recording session.

Will you match or beat my other quote?

We pride ourselves on the quality of our work, not only during the recording session but afterwards and our aim is to give you the very best recording we possibly can.  However, we realise price is also important so will match any like for like quote where sensible to do so.

Are there any up front costs?

We do not charge for the recording session.** Your school will be invoiced for the number of CDs ordered at the point we despatch the goods to the school.  Our payment terms are then strictly 7 days.

Is there a minimum order?

Yes we ask schools to commit to a minimum order of 50 CDs following the recording session.  The more CDs you order from us the cheaper they will be per unit.  Please check our pricing page for more information.

*Recordings outside of mainland UK will attract additional travel expenses
**Free Recording sessions are subject to terms and conditions
